Apartment, Parisien pour echange montagne ou Etats-Unis, Europe.

Our apartment is comfortable and situated in a small building from the end of the XIXth century. It is very quiet, 5 minutes walk from the subway (line 1 - a very quick line that cross Paris from East to West). The "bois de Vincennes", a huge park, is at the end of the street. The apartment is functional (dish washer, oven, microwave, coffee machine, washing machine) and gives a view on the garden. The bedrooms are quite big. Ours has a big bed for two. The kids room has a single bed, a baby bed and it is possible to had an inflatable bed. There's also a very comfortable convertible sofa in the living room (double bed). The size of the apartment is considered quite big from a Parisian point of view. We usually have meals in the living-dining room, but there are stools in the kitchen for breakfasts or snacks. The floors are old wooden floors and the ceilings are molded. It is a typical Parisian apartment and we renovated it 7 years ago. The apartment is baby and kids friendly and you won't need to bring anything (we have cots, high chair, stroller, car seat) and a lot of toys and books for kids from 0 to 5.

Our neighbors are nice and helpful if need be. The apartment is on the 3rd floor (no elevator) and we can use part of the garden.

We are looking for a house or big apartment in the mountains (ski station if possible) in France or elsewhere in Europe, to spend Christmas or New Year's eve 2010-2011 (one week, either Christmas or New Year). But we also like to travel elsewhere in the States or Canada where we have friends (Boston, California). We would like the kids to discover Florida or New York. We also would like to exchange in Chicago, to come and see my younger daughter's godmother. We love Italy and we are open for exchanges with this country, even for a weekend.

My Surroundings / Locality

We are 5 minutes away from subway (line n° 1 – St Mandé Tourelles Stop). You’ll be in the heart of Paris in less than 15 minutes. We are also 5 minutes away from three bus lines (n° 86 for Saint Germain des Prés, n° 56 for République and Nation and n° 325 for Vincennes and East suburbs of Paris). All shops and supermarkets are less than 5 minutes from the apartment (bakeries, butchers, fruits and vegetables, grocery stores) an it is the same for restaurants. There’s a food market on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. The Bois de Vincennes (a huge park with ponds) is at the end of the street. You can play tennis or horse ride. If you want to go to see a show or to the theater at night, it is also possible as you can take the subway. It is very secure, the neighborhood is family friendly and quiet.

You can also go easily to Eurodisney with the RER A (a suburb train 15 minutes by foot from the apartment in Vincennes). You’ll be in 20 minutes in Eurodisney. If you want to go to Versailles, it’ll take you 45-50 minutes in suburb train (RER C). In subway, you’re approximately 15-20 minutes from Notre Dame, 20-25 minutes from the Champs-Elysées, 15 minutes from Le Marais and 40 minutes from the Eiffel Tower.
